Overview
Health and Safety is a crucial module within Human Resource Management, specifically designed to uphold the health, safety, and welfare of all individuals in the workplace. It provides a structured framework for organisations to systematically record and manage workplace incidents, as well as process and track claims arising from these events. This module is fundamental for ensuring a secure work environment and for establishing accountability in relation to occupational safety.
Core Functionality: The module primarily allows users to record Incidents that occur within the organisation and manage Claims submitted by employees seeking compensation for these incidents. This holistic approach ensures a complete record of workplace safety events.
Module Components: The Health & Safety module comprises several key areas for comprehensive management. These include OHS Committee for oversight, Incident Reporting for documenting occurrences, Claim Type for categorising different claims, and Employee Claims for tracking individual compensation requests. Associated listing reports, such as the OHS Committee Listing, OHS Incident Listing, and OHS Claim Listing, provide detailed overviews.
Incident Reporting: When logging an incident, the system facilitates the entry of various critical details. An Incident Code is automatically generated based on configurations in Human Resource Management settings. Users record the Incident Date, classify the Type of incident, and provide a Subject for a brief description. It also captures the Branch where the incident took place, identifies the Employee involved, and notes any Witnesses. Crucially, it tracks Lost Time (e.g., hours or days an employee was away due to the incident) and any Compensation paid.
Claims Management: The module is equipped to handle the financial and administrative aspects of claims. It provides information on "Health and Safety" claims that are applied and subsequently paid to employees as compensation. The "OHS Claim Listing" report offers detailed insights into these transactions.
Reporting and Analysis: For oversight and analysis, the module generates specific reports. The OHS Incident Listing provides a comprehensive list of all recorded incidents, while the OHS Claim Listing details the claims made and payments disbursed to employees.
Access and Configuration: Access to the various Health & Safety functionalities and their sub-menus is controlled via Role Menu Access settings. The system also supports configurable settings, such as the "Next OHS Incident No," which dictates the sequential generation of incident codes.
